Ray and Arlene Miller were sitting down for lunch on Saturday afternoon at their Orange City home, when they heard the back door open. When Ray got up to check it out, he said he came face to face with a gun-wielding intruder.
Ray said the man demanded pain medicine. When Ray showed him a bottle of aspirin, Ray said the man became angry and pushed the couple into the garage. The Millers were able to escape and took off across the street to a neighbor's home to call 911.
When police officers arrived, they said they found the man, later identified as Kenneth Curry, 21, walking down Independence Drive and arrested him.
Curry faces charges of home invasion robbery with a firearm. As of Tuesday afternoon, he was still in the Volusia County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
