Two-thirds Chicago police overtime budget already spent: Sun-Times

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

It's only May, and the Chicago Police Department has burned through two-thirds of its annual overtime budget, according to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times.

In February, 200 officers started working overtime each day - to patrol the 20 most violent zones in the city.

There is now concern about whether there will be enough money left for the summer, when crime traditionally jumps.
