It was a Mother's Day to remember for one family after having to be rescued from the Chattahoochee River. The Jaykumar family was on the river when they were washed out of their canoe. It happened shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday near Azalea Drive in Roswell. The family tells FOX 5 that they were on the river in the canoe when debris hit it and caused it to flip. They couldn't get back into it, but couldn't get to the bank of the river either. The Roswell rescue team put their boat in the water and came to the family's rescue. Recent heavy rain has meant an extra hazard on the river. The Jaykumar's were check out and warmed up in an ambulance after being in the cool water for about 20 minutes. All three were able to walk away from the scene uninjured.
