Target's up & up sunscreen tops Consumer Reports list

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Just because it's not going to feel hot outside this Memorial Day weekend, doesn't mean you can skip the sunscreen.

In late May the sun is strong, regardless of temperature, so you need to protect your Michigan skin that hasn't seen the sun in months.

Consumer Reports tested out 12 popular sunscreen products, looking at SPF accuracy, UVB  and UBA protection, scent and staining possibilities.

Target's Up and Up brand ranked No. 1. And, as an extra bonus, it costs just under $7.

Walmart's Equate brand ranked No. 2 and costs around $7.50.

No. 3 for $11 is the well-known Coppertone Water, followed by Walgreens Continuous Spray, Hawaiian Tropic and Coppertone Sport.
