Former Atlanta Hawks player Daron "Mookie" Blaylock was granted bond on Tuesday. The ex-NBA All Star is charged with vehicular homicide and other charges after a fatal head-on collision in Clayton County on May 31.

Monica Murphy, a 43-year-old mother of five, was killed in the crash.

Blaylock's attorney said that he suffered a blackout before the accident.  Blaylock, who was wheelchair-bound and bandaged in court, was released from the hospital on Monday.

The solicitor initially asked for a $500,000 bond based on the former basketball player's criminal history, which includes multiple DUI arrests and convictions.

At the time of the fatal accident, Blaylock was a fugitive on a DUI hit-and-run case in Spalding County. The solicitor says Blaylock was also driving on a suspended license at the time of the deadly crash because he failed to appear in court on the Spalding case.

Preliminary  reports indicate no drugs or alcohol were involved in the latest crash, but more in depth toxicology reports won't be back for a couple of weeks.

The judge granted a $250,000 bond and ordered house arrest for the former NBA standout. He will have to submit to drug and alcohol testing. He will also have to surrender his passport.
