It has been two years to the day that 34-year-old Jimmy Ledford, of Sanford, was killed in a hit and run accident.
"I feel like part of me just wants to scream, why didn't you stop? " said Bernice Mims, Ledford's mother.
State troopers say Ledford was a passenger in a white pick-up truck that crashed with a motorcyclist on State Road 415. They say Ledford got out of the truck to check on the motorcyclist when another vehicle on the road hit him and kept going. Two years later no one has been arrested.
"We're just hoping that somebody anybody, that may have been in the area, may know something, may know the person," Mims said.
For two years, Mims and her family have never stopped looking for answers. Now they've created a YouTube video. The4-minute video shows the FHP flier that includes a composite sketch of the suspected driver who fled the scene, as well as Ledford's grave site, and family photographs -- a small snapshot of Ledford's life and death which they hope will draw attention from the public.
"We're trying to get as much awareness out as we can, we're hoping that as a man people that sees the video, the YouTube or the Facebook justice for jimmy, that you just pass it on," Mims said.
Anyone with information on the crash should contact Florida Highway Patrol at 1-800-226-5350.
