DETROIT (WJBK) -

Knee high grass and vacant homes is the view in many neighborhoods in Detroit, but residents on Doremus Street on the city's east side are dealing with exceedingly tall weeds.

"We can't even walk down the street at night. We don't know what's in that grass," said Brahiim Blair. "They could have bodies stacked on top of bodes in there."

The weeds taller than a person are apparently getting an extra supply of water from a leak at a nearby vacant home.

We contacted the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department. They told us a supervisor would be notified and that stopping the leak would be a top priority Monday morning.
