NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

An organized gambling ring whose member also sold marijuana and prescription drugs was busted in New Jersey, said Monmouth County officials.

Twenty people were arrested Monday in an 18-month long investigation.

The gambling operation allegedly generated $1 million a week and operated throughout Monmouth, Somerset, Essex and Hudson counties. Arrests were also made in New York State.

Law enforcement agents seized a dozen vehicles and more than $500,000 in cash.

The 22 defendants were due in Monmouth Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.

The accused ringleaders- Richard Crossan, 55, of Hillsborough, and Anthony Gagliardi, 38, of Monmouth Beach-- face money laundering charges.

The ring used websites to track illegal wagering and record profits and losses, said Monmouth County officials.
