42 hospitalized from rally, nearly 100 treated on scene

Paramedics treated nearly 100 people at the Blackhawks Stanley Cup rally Friday -- taking more than 40 to hospitals.

Most of the people suffered heat-related symptoms and misting units were brought in to help cool down the crowds.

Paramedics treated 91 people at the rally by 1 p.m. and took 42 of those to hospitals, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Many patients treated on the scene were taken out of the sun and given water and Gatorade, according to reports.

The Chicago Fire Department was being assisted on the scene by 20 suburban ambulances, according to Fire Media Affairs.
