The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop in the unstable atmosphere currently over the area. And showers and thunderstorms south of here are also moving north during the late afternoon hours.

"Given the recent very wet conditions rain from all this expected activity could cause additional flooding wherever the heaviest rain happens to fall through this evening.

A watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding, which can be a very dangerous situation. The public is urged to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flood warnings be issued.
