Stabbing Victim Found Near Doylestown Train Station In Critical Condition

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -

Police are investigating an early-morning stabbing near a train station in Bucks County.

Officers were initially called around 2:45 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck near the station, which is located at S. Clinton Avenue and Bridge Street. When they arrived, the man believed to be in his late 60s or 70s was unconscious.

After he was transported to the hospital it was discovered that the victim had been stabbed multiple times, police said. He was flown to Temple University Hospital in critical condition and was undergoing surgery Wednesday morning.

Police said they are reviewing the surveillance video but having trouble identifying suspects at this point.

The stabbing occurred in a remote area, near the station, but this is not believed to be related to the station. Police do not believe that the victim had been a train rider.

The victim's identity is not being released until family can be notified, police said.
