Canadian Couple Arrested, Accused of Planning Terror Attack

Posted: Updated:

A Canadian couple is under arrest, accused of planning a terror attack similar to the Boston Marathon Bombing.

Police say the couple planned to detonate three pressure cooker bombs during "Canada Day" celebrations in British Columbia on Monday.

The man and woman are Canadian born citizens. One's from victoria, the other's from St. Catharines, Ontario.

Investigators say they were inspired by Al-Qaeda ideology but have no international connections to the group.

Police say they learned about the alleged plot through a tip, five months ago.

There are similarities between this plot and the Boston bombing attack, but investigators say there's no evidence to suggest they're connected.
