Softball tournament benefits 4-month-old boy

DACULA, Ga. -

Hundreds of people took to a Gwinnett County softball field on Saturday to help out a 5-month-old baby who needs a new heart.

Josiah Barfield has a congenital heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome along with a restrictive atrial septum. He was placed on the heart transplant waiting list on May 13, just under four months after he was born.

This weekend, hundred came out to support his parents, Anthony and Lacy, as they struggle to pay the mounting medical bills.

Josiah is currently in the intensive care unit at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

Anyone wishing to help the family can make a donation to the Josiah Barfield Benefit Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
