Mississippi fugitive arrested in suburban Atlanta

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) - U.S. Marshals say they've arrested the suspect a Mississippi fugitive in suburban Atlanta.

Marshals' spokesman Gavin Duffy says authorities found Cedric Ratliff Friday trying to leave the parking lot of a Days Inn in Stone Mountain. Officials say Ratliff was wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for a probation violation. Duffy says Ratliff was out on bond after being arrested in a July 2012 slaying, and another arrest in July 2013 on narcotics charges.

Duffy says authorities found an undisclosed amount of cocaine and marijuana on Ratliff when he was taken into custody. He's being held in the Gwinnett County jail.

Duffy says he'll face drug charges in Georgia and will be extradited to Mississippi.

It was unclear if Ratliff had an attorney.
