NORCROSS, Ga. -

Cody Swanger tells FOX 5 Atlanta that the sound of gunfire woke him about 4:15 a.m. Friday. He was just about to call 911, Swanger says, when his brother came running through the front door saying he'd been shot.

Gwinnett County police say Cody's 25-year-old brother, Bobby, had just returned from work to his home in the 1000 block of Traymore Drive, when a light-skinned black male approached him. Police say the suspect pointed a gun at Bobby and demanded his wallet.

As Bobby reached for his wallet, police say the gunman shot him in his shoulder. When Bobby turned and ran from him and toward his house, the suspect shot him in one his legs.

The gunman reportedly ran to a nearby house, got into a parked car and drove off.

The suspect was described as a light skinned black male, wearing a white t-shirt and dark shorts. He had light facial hair and was wearing a large, dark colored hat. He was in his early 20's, approximately 5'-11", weighing approximately 210 lbs.

When the police arrived, Bobby Swanger was conscious and able to talk. He was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Investigators are following up on all leads and are looking into the possibility that this may be connected to several other armed robberies in recent weeks.

Anyone with information regarding this incident and the identity of the suspect is urged to call the Gwinnett County  Police at 770-513-5319 or 770-513-5300.

Gwinnett police are investigating the shooting and armed robbery.
