KSU closes charity health clinic

KENNESAW, Ga. -

Kennesaw State has closed the doors of a health clinic it ran for a Cobb County non-profit charity that helps the homeless and less fortunate.

The community clinic was operated by the university's Wellstar College of Health and Human Services for more than 15 years.

The clinic was located on the campus of Must Ministries, and served more than 1,600 of the charity's clients last year.

Must Ministries President Dr. IKE Reighard says the decision was based on staffing changes at the clinic and the $200,000 a year it takes to operate.

Dr. Reighard says Must Ministries is already courting other healthcare partners to operate the clinic.

In the meantime, the clinic's patients have been referred to other healthcare facilities.
