NORTH PHILADELPHIA -

Police say a masked gunman opened fire at a North Philadelphia basketball court that was full of people.

"It was horrific," said Tasha B. who heard the gunshots.

When bullets started flying, one of the two wounded victims raced into the Winchester Playground Recreation Center where Nikita Benson and several others meet weekly.

"He just looked like he was in shock and couldn't believe he was shot," recalled Benson. "It was just horrific."

Benson used her cell phone to call 911 and get help for the 16-year-old who was shot in the hand. A 31-year-old man was shot in the knee.

As police searched for clues to the crime in the 2300 block of North 15th street. People at the rec center comforted one another. Tasha B is furious that the gunman put so many people's lives in danger, especially little kids'.

So far no suspects in custody. The two victims were taken to Temple for their injuries.
