For decades, we dreamed of ditching our boxy television sets for futuristic flat screens that hugged walls like a painting.
With millions of plasma and LED TVs having been sold in the last ten years, manufacturers have decided to shake up the TV set's design by introducing a curved screen.
Samsung Electronics recently unveiled its Curved Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) television at an event in Seoul. Samsung says the Curved OLED TV "marks a new level in innovation that delivers immaculate true-to-life pictures from any angle or vantage point due to its unique curved display."
Samsung has some sets available at select locations in America, but they aren't the only manufacturer offering a curved LED set. LG has already been taking preorders for their line of curved sets and Panasonic and Sony are expected to follow.
Regardless of the manufacturer, these new curved sets aren't cheap. A 55-inch set retails from $12,000 to $15,000.
