Gym Members Ripped Off While Getting Ripped

Gym Members Ripped Off While Getting Ripped

GLENSIDE, Pa. -

John Trevisani normally leaves his lunchtime workouts at the Glenside LA Fitness feeling fit. But that wasn't the case after his Wednesday workout around noon.

"I felt completely empty and violated," said Trevisani.

That's because while he was getting ripped, someone apparently ripped him off by popping the lock on his locker.

"I went to my locker and all my clothes were in there but then I started rifling through  everything and realized all my cash and phone were gone. So that wasn't good," he recalls.

Though membership cards are needed to get into the gym, Abington Police say Trevisani wasn't the only one targeted. They say several other members were also victims of theft at the Glenside location, though only one other filed a report.

Police say locker room thefts also recently occurred at the Upper Dublin location.

"It's definitely disrespectful," said member Brandon Coleman. "I mean that's someone's personal stuff."

As one of the crime victim's in a recent rash of thefts at LA Fitnesses around the area, Trevisani just hopes new security measures are put in place. Or else he says he might have to give up his membership card.

"What's it going to take? What if someone gets hurt? Is that what it's going to take, someone getting physically assaulted?" he says.

LA Fitness didn't return our request for comment. Abington police say they're working with the company to suggest security measures. Right now police don't have any suspects in this crime.
