Romulus robber shows gun, steals cash in broad daylight

ROMULUS, Mich. (WJBK) -

Employees at a Romulus gas station are on alert after their store was robbed in the middle of the day.

A clerk at the Marathon gas station at Merriman and Ecorse tells us an older white man casually walked into the store around 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon.

He approached the counter and demanded money. At first, the cashier thought it was a joke.

Then the man placed his gun on the counter and again demanded money. The clerk gave him everything in the drawer.

We're told the suspect calmly walked out of the store, got into his older model pickup truck and drove away.

Watch Andrea Isom's report above and contact Romulus Police if you recognize the suspect.
