The Forum Gets A Facelift To Compete For The Spotlight

Posted: Updated:
Inglewood, CA -

Alice Williams has lived in Inglewood near the Forum for 42 years! She says she's seen the Jackson 5 at the Forum at other great acts. And, as she thinks about the renovation underway she's thrilled that great concerts may come back to the iconic landmark she calls a neighbor. She walks every morning for exercise by the circular center that opened to the public in 1967 as THE FORUM.

They became THE GREAT WESTERN FORUM. Next it was sold to a major church which was unable to make it a successful venue. Finally, last year it was purchased for 23.5 million by the Madison Square Garden Company.

Their plan is to turn the Forum into a great concert venue. The largest indoor facility for solely entertainment in the nation. They are looking to rival Staples Center, which is now home to the Lakers and Kings that used to call the Forum their home, and LA Live and it's entertainment events.

To Alice Williams GOOD! She's tired of paying $10 to $15 for parking Downtown. Now, she can walk to a concert and rock just like in the old days!

Twins brothers with a YouTube channel filled with their pranks say they weren't trying to make a joke. Serious intentions or not, a park full of parents were not amused by their latest stunt. This video is a must-see!

Rat poison may be responsible for the sorry condition of a wild mountain lion in LA's Griffith Park. The mountain lion is known to the National Park Service as ‘P-22'.

I met the folks from Gunnar Optiks at CES this year and they had something new to show me. The Intercepts. I have a big head, these are big frames, it was kismet but do they work as good as they look? We'll see.
