Cobb Co. sheriff, chief deputy involved in accident on I-75

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

Cobb County's sheriff and his chief deputy were involved in a multi-vehicle crash on I-75 southbound on Thursday, officials said.

The wreck happened shortly after 2 p.m.  According to Department of Public Safety spokesperson Franka Young, Sheriff Neil Warren and Chief Deputy Milton Beck were in the HOV lane on I-75 near Northside Drive in Fulton County when they were struck by a pickup truck pulling a trailer.

Warren and Beck suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, officials said.

The condition of the driver of the truck was not known.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident.
