LAPORTE, Ind. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A LaPorte man has been arrested in a connection to a 20-year-old homicide, according to the Indiana State Police.

Jason L. Tibbs, 38, is accused of killing Rayna Rison, 16, who was reported missing on March 26, 1993, the Post-Tribune is reporting. Her body was discovered in a pond near Range Road in LaPorte County a month later.

The case drew national attention, with the TV show "America's Most Wanted" airing an episode focusing on Rison.

State Police First Sgt. Al Williamson and LaPorte Police Detective Brett Airy have investigated the cold case for more than five years.

Tibbs, who was arrested during a traffic stop on one count of murder, is being held without bond at the LaPorte County Jail. It was unclear as of Friday morning if he had been arraigned yet.
