Police: Intoxicated Man Uses 12 Year Old As Designated Driver

Posted: Updated:

If you plan to drink, it's probably a good idea to leave your car at home or have a designated driver. One Kansas man used a designated driver, but the only problem was that the driver was 12-years-old.

The bizarre incident happened over the weekend in Wichita. Police pulled over a vehicle for driving erratically. When they approached the car, they realized it was a boy behind the wheel. And next to him in the passenger seat, an intoxicated man.

It turns out that the man is a friend of the boy's dad. He was super hungry, but too drunk to drive. So, he asked the boy's father if his young son could drive him to get food. The father, also intoxicated, agreed.

The passenger has been arrested and charged with child endangerment, according to police. It's unclear if the father will face any charges.
