Judge sets trial date for former DragonCon co-founder

Judge sets trial date for former DragonCon co-founder

Posted: Updated:
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

He may have sold his stake in this weekend's Dragon-con event, but former co-founder Ed Kramer still insists he's in no physical shape to sit through his child molestation trial.  Kramer has spent 13 years delaying the trial, but a judge has now set a trial date.

The FOX 5 I-Team started investigating Kramer because of the dozens of often-bizarre grievances he's filed since he got back to the Gwinnett County Jail this year.  The former Dragon-con co-founder claims he's in such poor health and is such a devout Jew that the jail must provide him special accommodations, like cigarettes he could light in his cell in lieu of candles for religious purposes.

The county has spent at least $23,000 on his medical bills.  But for the first time, a judge has decided Kramer's various health issues do not provide reason to delay his trial any longer.

Judge Karen Beyers ruled Kramer will face child molestation charges starting December 2.  Judge Beyers also must rule whether Kramer should be released on bond again until that December trial.  She will not make a decision on that until at least Wednesday.

We already know about some of the fees our banks charge -- the monthly fee, the overdraft charge, out-of-network and minimum balance fees. That's standard stuff. But did you know that the average checking account has 30 fees attached?
