Americans are celebrating today the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

The highlight of that day in 1963 was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to converge on the capital to commemorate and celebrate this pivotal point in the civil rights movement.

A day full of events will end with a speech by President Barack Obama at the Lincoln Memorial.

He'll speak from the same spot where King delivered his famous speech.

Obama will be joined by former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

Oprah Winfrey, Jamie Foxx and Forest Whitaker will join the three presidents today.

You can watch the president's speech live right here on FOX 29. If you can't get to a television, you'll also find live coverage at MyFOXPhilly.com.

Fox's Melanie Alniwick joined "Good Day Philadelphia" live from Washington this morning with more on what to expect from today's event.

Throughout the week, some of the Philadelphia area's most recognizable faces have been sharing their thoughts on how they are living King's dream today. You can also find those clips online on our special coverage page, "March On Washington: 50 Years Later," along with footage from the original walk, a transcript of King's speech and more.
