LeDuff: DPD joins modern times, now monitoring crime with computers

DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

Detroit Police Chief James Craig has introduced a computer system to monitor crime in the city. Other agencies all over the country use this statistical system, with Craig saying it's time for Detroit to get with the times.

The system will be used to identify crime hot spots, with the intent of shutting them down before the crime spins out of control in that area.
