THE VILLAGES, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

It is not a Jewish holiday, but many Jews around the world mark Kristallnacht,or the "Night of Broken Glass," every year on November 9th and 10th.

The name was given to a horrific time, in 1938, when Nazi Germany lashed out atthe country's Jewish population. When it was over the Nazi's had destroyed manyJewish owned businesses, killed nearly 100 Jews and shipped tens of thousandsmore to concentration camps.

Eventually, the world discovered Adolph Hitler's campaign against theJews and stopped the Holocaust.

Now, a man in The Villages wants to honor theAllied troops responsible for that liberation.

FOX 35's Tom Johnson has thestory of his powerful tribute tonight during FOX 35 News at 10 p.m.
