Police: Woman fatally shot man at Clifton Road home

ATLANTA -

A man is left dead after a shooting inside of a home on Clifton Road in east Atlanta Friday.

Homicide detectives were still on the scene in the pre-dawn hours, awaiting a search warrant to enter the home, located in the 800 block, and continue their investigation, FOX 5's Carolyn Ryan reports.

Police responded to call about the shooting around 2:30 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived at the scene, the found a man – about 30 years old – had been shot and was dead.

The homeowner, identified as Victoria Rickman, had apparently pulled the trigger, police said. She was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.

Police have yet to comment on what led to the shooting as the incident is still under investigation. Police could not comment on whether there was a sign of a struggle.

They did say the man and woman knew each other.  But, they couldn't comment on the nature of their relationship.  Reportedly the man did not live at the home on Clifton Road.

Police have charged Victoria Rickman with felony murder in the death.
