Condo residents frustrated by vehicle booting

ATLANTA -

Some residents of a Buckhead condo complex say they are tired of getting the boot on their cars.

Residents of the Habersham of Buckhead complex reached out to FOX 5 after they say at least eight vehicles were booted at the visitor parking lot on Sunday despite having parking passes.

Chris Lamb said that he and his girlfriend have paid more than $500 in towing expenses since they moved into the complex in April. He said his girlfriend was issued one designated parking spot and two visitor parking decals. He says they have had their visiting parking permits displayed in their vehicles each time they were booted and towed.

"My question would be: where can I park? If they want me to park somewhere else, OK, where? There is nowhere," Lamb said.

Former resident Laura Hamil said that she was booted a few months ago when she came to see her mother, who lives at the complex.

"I should have gotten that money back and never ever did. It makes me furious," said Hamil.

A spokesperson for EPS Parking told FOX 5 that they are simply enforcing the rules spelled out by the management company for the complex.

The parking company said that they have been told by complex management to focus on people who are violating one of three rules:  illegally using a unit and therefore illegally using a space, using visitor parking as permanent parking or using a visitor parking space more than 30 days out of a year.

Three people who have been booted told FOX 5 that none of those categories applied to them.
