A New York state trooper spotted a speeding Mitsubishi on the Cross Island Parkway in Nassau County, N.Y, shortly after 1 a.m. Monday. The trooper was able to catch up to the speed demon, who was clocked at 104 mph, and pull him over, police said.

The trooper arrested the driver, Stephen Samuel, 42, of Brooklyn. A breath test indicated that Samuel's blood-alcohol content was 0.13 percent, according to police. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Authorities charged him with felony DWI, misdemeanor reckless driving, and traffic violations, police said.

Samuel was expected to face the charges in Nassau County First District Court.
