James Wolk: It Just Kinda Went There

James Wolk: It Just Kinda Went There

Posted: Updated:

Working with Robin Williams is a real rush, says James Wolk, who co-stars with Robin and Sarah Michelle Gellar on the new comedy series, "The Crazy Ones."

"I grew up watching Robin Williams.  I grew up watching his movies, watching "Mork & Mindy," so to act opposite him is a joy.  It's a dream come true."

But was it intimidating?  James tells Steve Edwards and Maria Quiban on Good Day L.A., "He is an improvise master who can do it like nobody else.  But the thing about Robin is he's so gracious and so kind that you don't feel intimidated.  He takes you with him, and I think that's a sign of his great comedic genius is that he can bring the actors around him up."

Fun Facts About James Wolk:

  • In 2008, Wolk landed his first television role in Hallmark Hall of Fame's Front of the Class, as Brad Cohen. He subsequently played the title character in the 2009 ABC pilot Solving Charlie. In 2010, Wolk was cast as the lead in the Fox television series Lone Star, as Robert/Bob Allen, a Texas con man married to the daughter of one of his targets, while simultaneously maintaining a relationship in another town. The show was canceled by Fox after only two episodes.
  • In 2013, Wolk joined the Season 6 cast of Mad Men, playing mysterious junior account man Bob Benson. As the season progressed, Benson became one of the most talked-about characters on the show.
  • Wolk is on the Board of Directors of the Brad Cohen Tourette Foundation. He also volunteers at "Camp Twitch and Shout", which is a camp for children (ages 7–17) with Tourette syndrome in Georgia.

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
