YPSILANTI TWP., Mich. (WJBK) -

Ypsilanti Twp. officials condemned a home on Levona Street after seizing an abundance of cats from the property. 88 malnourished cats were found living in filth and feces inside the ranch-style home.

Monday the landlord and other crews began the task of cleaning the property, to possibly make it rentable again. The woman and her father who lived inside the home legally have until the end of the day today to vacate the premises.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley says this is one of the most extreme cases they have ever seen of animal hoarding. Workers are still evaluating the health issues of many of the confiscated cats, but say some of them are expected to be adoptable by the end of the week. They hope to also submit paperwork to the prosecutor's office by the end of the week to get criminal charges filed against the woman who lived in the home.
