Caught! Burglar forgets to flush, identified by DNA

Court documents show that on January 23, 2012, Charles Williams broke into a home in Oklahoma City, Okla. Officers say he stole more than one thousand dollars worth of belongings that included gaming equipment, clothing and a bb-gun.

But - when you've got to go, you've got to go! - and before Williams left the house he relieved himself in the family's toilet. Moreso, Williams did not adhere to proper toilet etiquette: it was brown and he did not flush it down.

The family returned to the home and say the children made the discovery, and flushed the toilet before police arrived. However, the used toilet paper was still there, and police were able to get a DNA sample from that.

"The type of analysis that's used today is very, very powerful[.] The skin cells that would have rubbed off when someone used that toilet paper would be sufficient to identify the person who left the sample there," described Cassidy.

Court documents show that the DNA proved to be a confirmed match to Charles Williams.

Williams was in the Oklahoma County jail Thursday with no bond.
