Paulding County airport to offer commercial flights

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport might soon get some local competition.   Paulding County has announced plans to bring commercial air service to its regional airport.

The county will partner with investment firm, Propeller Investments, for the venture. The airport will be renamed Silver Comet Field.

Propeller is in talks with several commercial carriers and hopes to announce initial passenger service shortly.

The goal is to bring jobs to Paulding County and offer residents another option for commercial flights.

Organizers predict that the project could generate more than $350 million in economic activity each year and thousands of jobs for Paulding County over the next decade.
