Authorities Continue Search For Missing Kayaker

Posted: Updated:

Sky FOX was over the Delaware River in the Torresdale Manor section of Bensalem Township as rescue crews feverishly searched for missing kayaker Xiang He.

His neighbors just hoping the 38-year-old husband and father is found okay.

"You're upset because there's no closure," said Don Anderson. "Is he somewhere in a kayak floating around? Who knows?"

What police know right now is that the Bensalem man was last seen around one Tuesday afternoon. He's wife realized something was wrong when her son's school called around 3 p.m. saying her husband hadn't picked up their son.

Thinking she had to wait 24-hours to report him missing. He's wife waited a day to call police.

Police say that call sparked an all-day search in the air and on the ground from Philadelphia to Bristol.

"We're going to concentrate on the waterway," explained Bensalem Police Sgt. Andrew Aninsman. "We also have an investigation on land to backtrack and see if he may

be somewhere else."

Investigators say items He purchased at a store are still on his boat that's anchored in the

Delaware. Problem is He and his red kayak normally used to get back to shore are nowhere to be found.

Neighbors tell us the trio just moved to the neighborhood in the past few years.

They say He took his son to play at the river almost daily during the summer.

Investigators say the family has been extremely cooperative.

Authorities hope to continue their search Thursday morning. but that all depends on the weather.
