For the first time in 155 years, employees at Macy's may have to work on Thanksgiving.
The retailer is reportedly considering opening on Thanksgiving night to get a jump on the Black Friday shopping rush.
Employees at one store say they received a survey asking about their availability on Thanksgiving night for an 8 p.m. opening.
Macy's CEO Ted Lundgren told reporters recently that he would never say "never" when asked about the possibility of opening early.
If Macy's does decide to open on Thanksgiving, it will join a growing list of retailers opening on the holiday.
A formal announcement is expected this week.
