BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. -

Bartow County authorities lifted an Amber Alert Wednesday evening after safely locating a missing 14-year-old girl.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that Amber Harrison was located and in the custody of the Bibb County Sheriff's Office in central Georgia.

According to Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap, a citizen who was aware of the Amber Alert spotted the vehicle and called 911.

Bibb County deputies say the citizen spotted the white Range Rover in the parking lot of the Country Inn and Suites at 3915 Arkwright Road and immediately notified them.

A news release states Bibb County deputies went to the hotel to verify that the vehicle was the one listed in the alert. After deputies spotted the vehicle, the driver attempted to leave, but not before deputies blocked him in. Deputies drew their weapons and conducted a felony traffic stop without incident.  Both were detained until investigators could speak with officials from Bartow County.

After speaking with investigators from the Bartow County Sheriff's Office, Bibb County investigators discovered that Harrison took her parent's white Range Rover without permission and went to Dallas, Georgia to pick up 20-year-old Justin Cooley.

The Bibb County release states the two were "joy riding across the state" until the alert was posted and the two were discovered sitting in the parking lot of the hotel.

According to investigators, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office does not have any charges against Cooley, and he was released on scene.

Bibb County authorities say the teenager was not harmed and taken to the Bibb Sheriff's Office until she is reunited with parents later Wednesday evening.

Authorities issued the nationwide Amber Alert after the teenager left her Acworth home Wednesday morning.

The original alert indicated that Amber had been abducted by Cooley.

In his statement, Sheriff Millsap thanked all people who assisted in making a quick location on this case.

It also indicated the department would release more information about the case Thursday.
