FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!
Here's more information about the guests we featured:
Four Seasons Food Truck
OK, now we've seen it all. Five-star hotel Four Seasons has launched a FOOD TRUCK! Bringing high-end cuisine to the streets, the FS Taste Truck is your chance to indulge in international eats ranging from Mexican shrimp tostadas and classic tres leches cake to empanadas from Argentina and Korean kalbi short ribs. The truck is in LA now through October 27 with tasty dishes from Chef Ashley James of the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.
If you've ever watched "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" you already know Brandon & Leah. Part of the Jenner clan, this married musical duo has been garnering fans and rising on the Billboard charts with their hit "Showstopper." Their cool, laidback sound mixes elements of electro-pop and soul for a true Southern California vibe. The pair's record release event is on Saturday, October 19 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.
Like taking a step back in time, Zlaket's Deli is a little taste of Mayberry right in the middle of Historic Main Street in Garden Grove. This charming shop has been around for 86+ years (making it the oldest family-owned business in OC) and offers the largest selection of old-school sodas, nostalgic candy, old-fashioned floats and, of course, tons of deli options. Just in time for the World Series, Octoberfest, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, this place is a go-to for everything from turkeys to pastrami sandwiches to Elvis milkshakes.
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden
Listen up, night owls! "Things that Go Bump in the Night" is a fun family event at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont where you can meet nocturnal creatures like bats, opossums (like our special guest Marshmallow!), owls, insects and spiders. Pack a picnic and your flashlight to discover the wonders of the after-dark world at this true local gem. Event takes place Saturday, October 19 from 5:30pm to 9pm. Everyone welcome.
