Technical glitches delay college application process

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Technical glitches have made the already challenging process of applying for college even harder than usual.

500 colleges, including Northwestern, allow students to apply using a website called "common application." The website is supposed to make it easier for students since they only have to fill out one form and not dozens, but computer bugs have made it hard or impossible for students to see if application fees have gone through.

Common Application technical people say a big chunk of the problem has been fixed.

Meanwhile, some schools – including the University of Chicago and Northwestern -- have pushed back early application deadlines.
