They served their country by fighting for our freedom overseas, so the least we can do is simply say thank you in the most patriotic way we can, which explains the Honor Flights.
Honor Flight Central Florida of Orlando, and Space Coast Honor Flight of Melbourne united to provide a free trip and services to Veterans to the Air Force Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, the WWll Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery to witness the changing of the Guard and the laying of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
They go on a special charter flight mission to view and reflect at the National Memorials built in their honor. Most of them got the chance to see these national treasures for the first time, and for many it may be their final opportunity to do so. On Saturday, those 75 WWll and Korean War Veterans returned from Washington, DC.
"Our Veterans have honored us with their service to our Country, and now it's our time to Honor them", said Ed Riordan, Director of Marketing for Honor Flight Central Florida.
The group of Honored Veterans returned to the Orlando Sanford International Airport via Allegiant Air charter to a hero's welcome Saturday night and it filled their hearts with joy. Some even got choked up from all of the love.
