Delaware State Police are investigating after a body was found Wednesday morning in a marshland near the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 13 in New Castle.
Just before 11 a.m., a billboard maintenance crew was working in a field around the 100 block of South DuPont Highway and found the decomposing body.

Officials are working to remove the body from the scene and conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

We're getting rain well ahead of our cold front. Expect to need that umbrella on and off all day and tonight, too. A bit messy, unfortunately, for First Friday activities.
With the blast of cold air that follows, we'll probably have a dry day on Saturday, and the chance of a Sunday wintry mix into the afternoon and evening. A light coating could occur for some before a changeover to rain. Stay tuned!
