CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities in Cherokee County are warning residents after a rash of car break-ins. Police said some of the thefts occurred while people were worshiping at local churches.

Police say they responded incidents at five separate locations within a 10-miles span on Tuesday morning.  The thieves struck two churches, a school, a day care center and an animal hospital all within two hours, according to police.

Authorities said the fast-acting thieves broke windows, stole items and were gone before anyone noticed.

Officials think the same people are responsible for all the thefts.  Lt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said that the thieves are believed to be driving a silver passenger car.
