CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man is in police custody after a vehicle crashed into a townhome in north suburban Hainesville Friday morning.

Police received a 911 call from the 400 block of North Patriot Drive shortly after 4 a.m., but the caller immediately hung up. Responding officers found a vehicle crashed into the townhome at that location and the vehicle was "engulfed in flames," according to a statement from Grayslake police. Hainsville does not have its own police department and neighboring Grayslake police cover the area.

The cause of the crash had not been yet determined Friday afternoon.

A 32-year-old man was found near the crash several hours later and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after showing signs of hypothermia. The man has not been charged, police said.

The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and Grayslake police are investigating.
