'Light The Night Walk' Draws Hundreds In Philly

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Hundreds of people "Light the Night Walk" outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art as they come together in the fight against cancer.

They came from all over the region – all ages, all works of life – all with one goal in mind, raising money and awareness and trying to save more lives from a terrible disease.

A steady stream of friends, families and complete strangers packed onto Eakins Oval to support those who been lost, those who are surviving and those in the midst of battling leukemia and lymphoma.

The evening was full of reflection and celebration as well as head shavings, showing support for a devastating disease.

Plenty of your favorites from right here on FOX 29 joined in taking snapshots and signing autographs.

Anchor Iain Page was our team leader and master of ceremonies for the event, which raises funds and awareness. FOX 29 is a sponsor of this year's leukemia and lymphoma society's "Light the Night Walk."

Once the night fell, the lights lit up all aglow to save more lives

The walk wrapped up on Saturday night having raised more than $630,000 to go toward research, awareness and help for those fighting leukemia and lymphoma.

Insurance policies have rules governing what's covered and what's not. Generally, they make sense. The rules are designed to prevent unreasonable costs from being passed along to the insurer, and by extension to other insurance customers. But listen to Sheree Kober's story.
