Authorities said they have made an arrest in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in Lawrenceville.

Investigators said the attacker watched the victim as she went into a Walmart store on Lawrenceville Highway around 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 20. When she left the store, police said the man forced his way into her vehicle and made her drive to a location, where he sexually assaulted her. He then stole her car, police said.

According to Captain Greg Vaughn of the Lawrenceville Police Department, patrol units found the stolen car at a Days Inn located on Pike Street in Lawrenceville early Monday.  Police then arrested 19-year-old Emmanuel Brandon Dupree at the scene.

Dupree is charged with rape, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy and possession of a knife while in the commission of a felony, Vaughn said. He is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
