Gina's People: Pay It Forward K9's Only

Posted: Updated:

This week in Gina's People, we meet a FOX 11 viewer making a difference in the dog world.

K9 Behaviorist, Bobby Dorafsher is donating his time to train dogs for free. He figures if they're trained, someone will adopt them.  The dogs he's chosen to help out were considered nothing but trouble and they were on a list to be euthanized.

Nearly 40,000 dogs and cats are euthanized in the LA area every year. Some people turn in their pets at shelters saying they are simply tired of their dogs. Dorafsher says, "It breaks my heart and I don't understand it. I have a hard time to digest how some people can have a dog for 10 years and not even want him anymore."

Dorafsher owns "K9's Only" a daycare and training center for dogs. He recently started "Pay It Forward K9's Only". He takes in rescues and trains them for 6 weeks.  The transformation is amazing and the payoff for Dorafsher is priceless.

He says, "It feels like you won the lotto! You feel you've actually done something. You saved a life."
