A scary scene in Royal Oak on Wednesday afternoon.
A driver loses control of her car and lands it on top of another vehicle.
It happened near Coolidge Highway, between 13 Mile Road and Normandy.
Police are still trying to figure out what caused the driver to lose control.
The person driving the car has been taken to the hospital, the extent of her injuries are not known at this time.
No one else was hurt in this accident.
PRESS RELEASE FROM ROYAL OAK POLICE:
The Royal Oak Police Department
responded to a traffic accident which occurred on October 30, 2013 at
approximately 1:32 p.m. near the intersection of Coolidge and Normandy.
The initial investigation
indicates a motor vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old female Royal Oak resident,
was traveling southbound on Coolidge and attempted to turn onto eastbound
Normandy. The driver lost control of the vehicle while turning, traveled
southbound in the northbound lanes of Coolidge and left the roadway striking a
vehicle parked at a residence and a house in the 4100 block of Coolidge.
The lone occupant of the vehicle
was transported to William Beaumont Hospital to be treated for non-life
threatening injuries. The Royal Oak Police Department is currently
investigating the incident. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident.
