NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

Halloween was all but canceled in 2012 because a Frankenstorm later to be named a superstorm wreaked havoc for millions of people. But this time around things are a bit better for the Halloween industry. Owners of haunted houses and pop-up costume stores in New Jersey say business is up.

Rich Gonci owns Brighton Asylum in Passaic, a haunted house that's been here every Halloween for 3 years. Last year Sandy's destruction meant a 40 percent loss in business. This year, the store says business has been like a fairy tale.

Spirit Halloween is also reporting positive gains. The pop-up store in Clifton was packed with people were making last-minute purchases.
