CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

So many of our troubled neighborhoods face the same sort of question: How do you inspire our young men to give up "life on the street" for a life of purpose?

In the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, the answer may be basketball. The Lawndale Christian Fitness Center sponsors a league that promotes both competition and transformation.

LCFC Basketball director Leigh Batts and participant Henry Edwards joined Good Day Chicago Thursday morning to speak on the inspiration for the league, changes they've seen so far, what made Henry decide to join, how playing for LCFC has changed his life and their hopes for the future.
